Oplopanax horridus--Devil's Club, harvested by (gloved) hand in the Spring, when the plant has just begun to bud, but prior to unfurling its new growth. We humbly harvest healthy plants, growing near water and often at higher elevation, in and around Sitka, in Alaska's Southeast archipelago.
This plant has been used medicinally throughout human history by the indigenous people of these verdant Alaskan islands, and is well-respected for its ability to address numerous ailments, with joint and muscle pain relief being a primary use.
In the Spring, we infuse organic olive oil with the cambium of this plant, which we then blend with organic beeswax.
